An insider’s perspective on the secret business of academic publishing
Pat Thompson (Professor of Education in the School of Education at the University of Nottingham) and Barbara Kamler have co-authored Writing for Peer Reviewed Journals: Strategies for getting published.
Avoiding a ‘tips and tricks’ approach, which tends to oversimplify what is at stake in getting published, the authors emphasise the production, nurture and sustainability of scholarship through writing – a focus on both the scholar and the text or what they call text work/identity work.
What the reviews say:
“Excellent advice on how to structure the writing plan from the abstract through to article completion. I found the strategies clear without being constraining.”
“Great starting point on how to write peer reviewed journal articles.”
